Our goal today was to make it all the way to Chattanooga, TN to stay the night. We got out a little later than we planned this morning. As we were driving north, we realized that we were going to hit Atlanta, GA right at 5:15! Rush Hour!
So we wimped out and found High Falls State Park in Jackson, GA, about 30 minutes south of Atlanta. It's a very pretty campground, but it is HOT here! Way hotter than Orlando. The bottom of the falls looked like a good place to swim to us, but the park lady said that there are high levels of bacteria and LEECHES! You know the germaphobe in me would not let Emily go anyplace with high bacteria levels, so luckily there is also a pool.
The kids got to swim for about an hour before the pool closed. Brad and I had some really interesting people watching experiences while the kids swam. How many Buddhist monks can fit in an SUV? Sounds like the opener to a joke, right? Nope! We saw 7 Buddhist monks, complete in their orange robes, get into an SUV. I would have thought that monks didn't drive cars, but evidently these particular monks drive a Lexus! :)
Tomorrow morning, we will stop by Chattanooga, TN to hang out with our one of our favorite families, the Sharps, en route to Nashville. We will stay overnight in Nashville and then get to Mammoth Cave on Sunday.
