After leaving Indiana, we continued southward to Tennessee and Fall Creek Falls SP. We visited many more state parks on this trip than any other; we usually stay at private campgrounds. We got very frustrated with some of the state parks, in particularly the state of Wisconsin. The parks are nice, but some of their policies and procedures are odd, and they are totally inflexible about the rules.
So it was like coming home to pull into a TN SP, where all the employees are friendly, helpful, and willing to help out the customers any way they can. They also have great bathrooms with amazing hot showers! (I judge all campgrounds by the state of their bathrooms.)
Fall Creek Falls SP is really nice. We could probably have stayed there a week, since there are so many things to do there. They have a pool that has been recently updated, a snack bar, some cute little stores, and an amphitheater. They have 3 waterfalls which you can swim in, and they have a treetop obstacle course! We did this our second day there. What a fun time! It was probably the best course I've ever seen and the price was much better than most.
We are now on our final trek home. We are hoping to get all 649 miles finished off today. Brad has to return to work on Thursday, so our vacation has to come to an end. It has been a fun time, and I'm glad we took this route. I'm always amazed at how many interesting things there are to see in this country. Check out the photo gallery for our final map picture!
